Getting started
Create a free account with Google or email, no card required. The Free plan tracks up to 5 subscriptions with every core feature, forever.
- Prefer to look around first? Click “Try demo” on the homepage to explore a fully working dashboard with sample data, and nothing is saved.
- On your first sign-in, a quick onboarding lets you pick the services you already pay for so your dashboard starts populated.
Adding & editing a subscription
Add a subscription with the + button (bottom-right) or Quick add in the top bar. The keyboard shortcut is ⌘K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows).
- Type the service name. Popular services autocomplete with their known plans and prices.
- Pick the plan, enter the price, and choose the currency.
- Set the billing cycle (monthly or yearly) and the start / next-billing date.
- Choose a category and add optional notes, then save.
Tip: Add “trial” in the name or notes to have Subkept track it as a free trial and warn you before it converts.
To edit or remove one later, click its row to open the details, then edit, pause, or delete it.
Your dashboard (Overview)
The Overview is your at-a-glance home: total monthly and yearly spend, your next upcoming charge, the subscriptions renewing soon, a spend-by-category breakdown, and a spending chart over time.
The subscriptions list
The Subscriptions view lists everything you track.
- Search by name to jump to a specific service.
- Filter by category to focus on one type (e.g. Entertainment).
- Sort by next renewal, price, or name.
- Click any row for full details to edit, pause, or remove it.
Renewal calendar
The Calendar view lays out every upcoming renewal by date, so you can see exactly when charges land across the month. Click a day’s item to open that subscription.
Renewal reminders & the bell
Subkept warns you before money leaves your account.
- Set how many days ahead you’re reminded (default 3) in Settings.
- The bell icon shows subscriptions renewing soon and trials about to end.
- Turn on email reminders in Settings to also be notified by email.
Free-trial countdowns
To track a free trial, include “trial” (or “free”) in the subscription’s name or notes. Subkept then counts down the remaining days and flags the trial in the bell before it converts to a paid charge, so you can cancel in time if you don’t want to keep it.
Insights & worth-it check-ins
The Insights view helps you spend less without losing anything you use.
- Annual savings: spots monthly plans that would be cheaper billed yearly, and shows how much you’d save.
- Price creep: flags subscriptions that now cost more than their typical price.
- “Is this still worth it?” check-ins prompt you to review a subscription and decide keep, downgrade, or cancel.
Price-hike detection
Subkept flags silent price increases on the things you track, and the public Price Hike Tracker records known increases across popular services so you can see who raised prices and by how much. Automatic price-hike detection on your own subscriptions is a Pro feature.
Pausing a subscription
Pausing keeps a subscription’s record but excludes it from your spend totals and reminders, which is handy for seasonal services (e.g. a summer pause). Unpause anytime from the subscription’s details.
Currencies & conversion
Choose your display currency from the top bar. Each subscription can be logged in its own currency, and Subkept converts everything into your chosen currency using exchange rates refreshed daily.
Free vs Pro
- Free: track up to 5 subscriptions with all core features, forever, no card required.
- Pro ($5/month or $35/year): unlimited subscriptions, automatic price-hike detection, and household visibility.
Upgrade anytime from the app; your data carries over instantly.
Privacy & your data
Subkept is privacy-first by design.
- No bank linking, ever. Every record is entered manually by you.
- Your data is isolated per-account with row-level security; the Subkept team can’t read your subscription history.
- Export your subscriptions as a CSV anytime, and delete your account and all data whenever you want.
Account & settings
In Settings you can adjust the app and your account:
- Switch between light and dark theme, and enable reduced-motion or compact mode.
- Set your display currency and reminder lead time.
- Switch accounts, sign out, or permanently delete your account.
Billing, cancellation & refunds
Pro is billed monthly or yearly through a secure payment processor, and Subkept never stores your card details.
- Cancel anytime; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- New paid plans include a 7-day money-back guarantee; email [email protected] within 7 days for a full refund.
Frequently asked questions
Does Subkept connect to my bank?+
No. Subkept never links to your bank, card, or any financial account, and never scans transactions. You add each subscription manually, so only the service names and prices you choose to enter are stored.
How many subscriptions can I track for free?+
The Free plan tracks up to 5 subscriptions with full core features, forever. Pro ($5/month or $35/year) unlocks unlimited subscriptions, price-hike detection, and household visibility.
How do free-trial countdowns work?+
Add the word “trial” (or “free”) in a subscription’s notes or name. Subkept then treats it as a trial, counts down the days, and flags it in the bell before it converts to a paid charge.
Can I track subscriptions in different currencies?+
Yes. Each subscription can be logged in its own currency, and you choose a single display currency from the top bar. Subkept converts using exchange rates refreshed daily.
How do I cancel or get a refund?+
Cancel anytime from your account settings. You keep Pro access until the end of the paid period. New paid plans include a 7-day money-back guarantee; email [email protected] within 7 days for a full refund.

Yes. You can export your subscriptions as a CSV, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. Deleted data is permanently removed within 30 days.
