Compress Video to a Target Size

Shrink a video to fit an upload limit, like Discord’s 10MB.

Drop files here or

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV · or paste with Ctrl+V

Your files never leave your device

Uses your device’s own video encoder, so it is fast and nothing is uploaded. Longer videos get a lower resolution to fit.

How it works

  1. Pick a size limit, or type your own in MB.
  2. Drop your video.
  3. Download the MP4 once it’s done.

About this tool

Discord’s free plan, email and many forms limit attachment sizes. The tool works out the bitrate that fits your limit from the video’s length, and picks a resolution that still looks clean at that bitrate.

It uses your device’s own video encoder, often the same hardware chip your phone uses to record video, so it is far faster than tools that upload your file. The result is a standard MP4 (H.264) that plays everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent anywhere, and the tool keeps working even if you go offline after the page has loaded.

Why did my video get a lower resolution?

A long video in a small file has very few bits per second. Lowering the resolution keeps it sharp instead of blocky.

Which browsers work?

Chrome, Edge, and Safari 16.4 or newer. If your browser can’t encode video, the tool tells you instead of failing silently.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
